Description:

The Systems Administrator role is focused on the administration and maintenance of all corporate IT Services, Systems and Processes. This applies to all physical & virtual servers, workstations, all global networks, SaaS, packaged and cloud based services, system integrations, both on-premises and cloud-based.The Systems Administrator is also involved with implementing IT services as well as following and improving processes including change management, configuration management, and knowledge management. Act as first responder for service requests in the Operations queue, and respond to alerts as part of the on call rotation. I am expecting this position to be roughly 70% Administration (Managing existing systems and processes) and 30% Technical (Training, Creating New Processes/Procedures, Self-improvement).Industry Knowledge, Networking and Subject Matter Expertise: * Proven ability to administer and maintain IT systems and services * Technical knowledge and aptitude for Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating environments, Active Directory & Exchange, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 * Familiarity and aptitude with AWS EC2, EBS, or GCP, or Azure * Familiarity with an automation tool such as puppet, chef, python, bash, powershell * Familiarity with networking principles such as DNS, routing, VPN, etc * Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with servers, networks, or cloud services * Strong process and results oriented mindset striving for continuous improvement * Willingness to pursue continued education and trainingDuties/Responsibilities/Primary Function: * Provide proactive and reactive administration and maintenance of IT systems * Respond to and resolve, or escalate, service requests, incidents and outages * Participate in the on-call rotation with the rest of the team * Participate in weekly server OS patching exercises for both Windows and Linux servers * Participate in system vulnerability remediation efforts * Ability and willingness to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users via face-to-face, email, chat, and our helpdesk ticketing system * Lead or collaborate on IT projects * Lead or collaborate on, and provide customer service for projects and deployments * Provide second-tier support for internal staff and talent * Troubleshoot issues effectively - know when to use your resources and when to escalate * Prioritize and manage personal and team tickets and evaluate/execute urgent tasks as needed * Identify ways to streamline common processes and ensure we maximize value within IT * Documentation Support: Creation and adherence to documented procedures * Ability to work off-hours and support our international officesRequired Skills/Abilities/Profile: * Experience administrating some of the following technologies: Apple, AWS, Google Workspaces G Suite, Office 365, Meraki WiFi, Azure, Active Directory, Powershell * Familiarity with Cisco Meraki products: firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points * Experience supporting a global 24x7 enterprise across multiple locations spanning multiple time zones * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail * Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines * Analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate * Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment * Expertise with Google SheetsEducation and Experience: * At least one year of related IT experience * AWS, Microsoft, Google, Linux certificationsPhysical Requirements: * Prolonged periods of working on a computer of up to 8 hrs per day * Must be willing to be available 24x7 * Must be able and willing to travel * Remote working from homeWhy Aquent?
