About DC Scholars: DC Scholars Public Charter School was founded in 2012 and serves approximately 500 students in Preschool - 8th grade. DC Scholars develops life-long scholars who have the academic knowledge and skills, individual passions, and community-mindedness necessary to succeed in and contribute to an ever-changing world. We have cultivated a mission-oriented and collaborative team. Our staff is enthusiastic about constantly setting and reaching a high bar for students. Position: DC Scholars After School Program is looking for part-time individuals to teach the after-school curriculum. We are seeking quality leaders that are dedicated and committed to the enrichment of our youth. Responsibilities include: Lesson planning and implementation of curriculum Provide leadership to scholars PK3-5 Use developmentally appropriate strategies for behavior management Managing groups while providing individual attention Maintaining a safe environment Other duties as assigned The ideal candidate should possess the following: High School diploma 1 year of teaching experience 1 year of experience working in a childcare/school setting Excellent organizational and teamwork skills Proficient written and verbal communication skills Must be able to pass a criminal background check and TB test Part Time Hours: Monday- Thursday 3:00 PM - 5:45 PM Friday- 1:00 PM - 5:45 PM DC Scholars encourages individuals of all identities and backgrounds to apply for this position.
