The Youth Pastor for the Edge Church oversees the Switch Program and will be responsible for leading and discipling the youth of The Edge Church, specifically focusing on teenagers (7th - 12th grades). This individual will foster spiritual growth, mentor student leaders, and create an engaging, dynamic environment where youth feel connected, valued, and inspired to grow in their relationship with Christ. The ideal candidate will have a passion for youth ministry, a heart for discipleship, and strong leadership skills. Key Responsibilities: • Spiritual Leadership: Lead and oversee the spiritual development of youth and leaders within the Switch Program by teaching biblical truths, fostering a Christ-centered community, and providing spiritual guidance.• Program Development: Develop, plan, and implement weekly youth gatherings, events, and retreats that are engaging, relevant, and spiritually enriching for youth.• Mentorship & Discipleship: Build relationships with youth, offering personal mentorship and guiding them in their faith journey. Encourage participation in small groups and one-on-one discipleship opportunities. Develop Swerve (Students Who Serve) program, meet regularly with them, train and appreciate them. • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead a team of adult volunteers and youth leaders who are passionate about working with teenagers. Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment.• Outreach & Evangelism: Develop and execute outreach strategies that encourage youth to invite their peers and bring new students into the Switch Program. Work to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.• Parent Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents, providing resources and support to help them guide their children in their spiritual journey. Communicate regularly with parents about events, teachings, and the progress of their youth.• Event Planning & Execution: Plan and lead events such as summer camps, mission trips, service projects, and other activities that will engage youth and provide opportunities for spiritual growth and community building.• Administrative Duties: Manage the budget for the Switch Program, maintain event calendars, and ensure all activities align with the vision and mission of the church. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at every event and gathering. Qualifications: • A strong and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.• Passionate about youth ministry and engaging the next generation in faith.• Previous experience working with youth in a ministry or similar setting.• Strong biblical knowledge and the ability to communicate scripture effectively.• Working knowledge of various software for Switch needs (Planning Center, Pro Presenter, etc.)• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.• Ability to connect with teenagers and relate to the challenges they face.• Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or a related field (preferred).• A heart for service, discipleship, and outreach.• Flexibility and creativity in planning and executing youth programs.
