Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligibleInova Featured Benefits:- Committed to Team Member Health: offering medical, dental and vision coverage, and a robust team member wellness program.- Retirement: Inova matches the first 5% of eligible contributions - starting on your first day.- Tuition and Student Loan Assistance: offering up to $5,250 per year in education assistance and up to $10,000 for student loans.- Mental Health Support: offering all Inova team members, their spouses/partners, and their children 25 mental health coaching or therapy sessions, per person, per year, at no cost.- Work/Life Balance: offering paid time off, paid parental leave, flexible work schedules, and remote and hybrid career opportunitiesJob Responsibilities:- The Surgical Technologist 1 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts.- Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures, and other items appropriate to the procedure.- Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of the first scrub on all basic surgical cases.- Selects proper sterilization method of instruments/equipment; sterilizes before procedures, as necessary, and verifies instruments as sterile.- Demonstrates the application of the principles of aseptic technique.- Prepares the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures based on the scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.- May perform additional duties as assigned.Requirements for Consideration:- Work Schedule: Full-time Night Shift: varied schedule, 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.- Education: High School diploma or equivalent- Experience: Preferred: Recent Hospital experience and/or previous practice experience.- Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start.- License: Registered Surgical Technologist required upon startInova Job ID #662595.
