We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Surgical Services Director to lead our surgical department in Ottumwa, IA. Job title: Surgical Services Director Location: Ottumwa, IA Salary: $95,000.00 - $136,000.00 Signing Bonus: Negotiable Bonus Description: Sign on and Relocation Negotiable Relocation Package: None Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the surgical services department, ensuring efficient and high-quality care. Staff Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of surgical professionals, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Operational Excellence: Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance departmental performance and patient outcomes. Budget Management: Prepare and manage the surgical services budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality care. Compliance: Ensure all surgical activities comply with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. Quality Improvement: Lead initiatives to continuously improve surgical services, patient safety, and satisfaction. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, physicians, and hospital leadership to coordinate care and optimize resources. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Masters degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in surgical services or a related field. Licensure: Current RN license in the state of Iowa or eligibility to obtain one. Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing and improving surgical services. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Director of Surgical Services is a registered professional nurse who assumes 24-hour accountability and responsibility for the overall operations of the Surgical Services department. This role is responsible for selecting staff and implementing the service structure, as well as maintaining the hospital's patient-centered culture. The Director manages multiple aspects within the patient care environment, monitors and maintains clinical standards of care, and ensures appropriate staffing resources to deliver quality patient care. Additionally, the Director participates in or chairs committees, work groups, and meetings as necessary, providing organizational leadership in the development, implementation, and maintenance of services aligned with the hospital's Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan.
