The ideal candidate will have 1-8 years of experience handling surety matters and must be admitted to the Bar in NY and/or NJ.Duties:Represent clients in surety-related matters, including contract claims, litigations, and transactions.Provide legal counsel and support on complex surety issues and disputes.Conduct legal research and analysis to support clients in the construction and surety industry.Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to surety bonds.Manage and negotiate settlements, if required, to resolve surety-related disputes.Collaborate with the Construction and Surety Group to strategize and provide comprehensive legal solutions.Requirements:1-8 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on surety matters.Bar admission in New York (NY) and/or New Jersey (NJ).Strong knowledge of construction law, contract claims, and surety bonds.Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Demonstrated ability to handle a high caseload and meet deadlines.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active bar admission in New York (NY) and/or New Jersey (NJ).Skills:Legal research and analysisDrafting legal documentsNegotiation and dispute resolutionConstruction law expertiseSurety bond knowledgeCommunication and interpersonal skillsTime management and organizationTeamwork and collaboration skillsThis job description outlines the key responsibilities, requirements, education, certifications, and skills necessary for a Surety Attorney position at the law firm.
