Position Title: Supervised Visitation Specialist Location: Parent Child Programs - Scranton, Pennsylvania Department: Parent Child Programs Employment Type: Full-Time Minimum Experience: Entry-level Compensation Rate: $19.00 Hourly Description: Job Title:Supervised Visitation SpecialistReports To:SV Team LeadHours:FT – evenings and weekends are requiredFLSA Status:Non-exempt, hourly Summary:Supervises and coordinates visitation of custodial and non-custodial parents/caregivers and their children by performing the following duties. Duties:• Schedules and supervises visits between non-custodial parents/caregivers and children.• Conducts thorough intake evaluations.• Assesses physical and emotional parenting skills/knowledge, boundary setting and overall parent-child interaction.• Performs comprehensive note taking using DAP format.• Regularly writes and submits reports to the court, which may include testifying in court.• Acts as a liaison and family intermediary between custodial and noncustodial caregivers, the court system and other service providers.• Regular data entry (Excel and agency database) and file maintenance.• Represents agency in community or in interagency activities.• Attends professional development opportunities when available.• Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience working with people from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds is preferred. Education/Experience:Master's or Bachelor’s degree; and 3 to 5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in the counseling/mental health field preferred. Computer Skills:Microsoft Office skills and accurate typing/data entry skills required. Certificates and Licenses:No certifications or licenses needed Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneWork Environment:This position requires regular evening hours and the ability to work a flexible schedule. The Supervised Visitation Specialist may occasionally encounter an angry or threatening client who is under the influence of alcohol/drugs and/or be exposed to potential hostile domestic relations, as cases can include protection from abuse orders (PFA’s). There are occasional cases where allegations of abuse/sexual abuse have been made. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.
