Substance Use Disorders Counselor, Bridgeways Program Position Summary Under the supervision of the Bridgeways Program Manager, the SUD Counselor will provide SUD education and counseling to youth who are juvenile justice involved or at-risk of juvenile justice involvement, and who have a mental health diagnosis/es which qualify them for Full Service Partnership services in the Bridgeways program. The SUD Counselor will work with youth who could benefit from specialized interventions to target co-occurring substance use symptoms, with the goal of removing these barriers to progress on the mental health impairment. Required Qualifications Certified in the state of California as a SUD Counselor, 2 years' experience in substance abuse and/or counseling, co-occurring treatment highly desired. Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) but not required. Must possess the ability to make sound decisions independently. Responsibilities Provide strength-based and culturally sensitive SUD education and counseling services to youth at schools, through home visits, and at other community settings Helps clients to identify and connect to activities that would positively impact their social, leadership and coping skills, as well as their physical, mental and emotional health. Screen each FSS client utilizing the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI), CSE-IT, and YLS/CMI Communicates regularly with the program's Bridgeway Clinicians, Peer-Support Specialist, Psychiatrist and Mental Health Registered Nurse regarding client SUD treatment Maintains a minimum 30% productivity level Completes other duties as assigned. Schedule/Compensation Full-time, non-exempt Monday-Friday (may include evening and occasional weekend hours) $28.00 - $33.60 Salary will commensurate with experience and education. Differential pay offered for bilingual skills. EEO. Additional Requirement Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with a good driving record. Willing to use own, properly insured, reliable vehicle for the job (mileage reimbursed).
