Substance Abuse Counselor 2 Mental Health/Alcoholism Services $65,036.01 - $92,158.59 The Special Treatment Unit (STU) is a 500-bed secured forensic facility for sexual offenders located in Avenel, New Jersey. The State of New Jersey invites you to join our team of professionals who are making a difference in the health and welfare of New Jersey citizens. Under the direction of the Director or supervising officer, the SAC 2 acts as a primary treatment therapist for residents on their caseload. Responsibilities include but not limited to- assessments, treatment planning, documentation, facilitating and co-facilitating process and psychoeducational groups, case management, individual sessions, and interdisciplinary team meetings. Certification: Possess a certificate as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), issued by the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners, New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, Department of Law & Public Safety. NOTE: Applicants who possess the credentials as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) are considered to have met the above certification. Experience: Two (2) years of experience in mental health or alcoholism counseling or social work having the responsibility for gathering and analyzing social or health information from clients, the determination of their needs and the planning and carrying out of a treatment plan geared to the needs of individual clients. One (1) year shall have included direct experience with persons addicted to alcohol in an alcohol treatment, prevention and/or rehabilitation program.
