Summary/Objective: 13; The State Eligibility Consultant is responsible for evaluating applications to determine eligibility for Food Stamps, Medicaid, and Temporary istance for Needy Families (TANF), etc. 13; Essential Job ignments: 13; The required functions of this role are as follows: :Review and approves or rejects eligibility recommendations made by contract staff for appropriate benefits and waiver programs;:Follows all directives given by the State Eligibility Manager/Local Office Manager/Deputy Regional Manager/Regional Manager;:Examines Data Matches to discern discrepant and unreported data;:Approves claims referred and calculated by the Contractor;:Approve or deny auxiliary benefit requests and under issuance requests; authorizes fiats:Conducts full eligibility interviews for SNAP, TANF and Medicaid applicants;:Insures that all clients are treated in a courteous, professional, and empathetic manner;:Keeps current on all changes in rules, regulations and guidelines regarding the individual benefit programs; completion of all trainings are timely;The job details is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be igned at any time. 13; Preferred Experience: 13; Five (5) years work history in counseling; social services; education; public administration; or accredited college training in a related field. 13; Requirements: 13; :Good knowledge of public istance policy, practices and procedures;:Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local rules and regulations related to public istance programs;:Current knowledge of computerized eligibility systems;:Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions;:Ability to use tact and empathy in dealing with people from varied backgrounds;:Ability to use discretion in dealing with all clients and fellow employees personal info;:Demonstrates good communication and interview skills, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; :Ability to be flexible and self:motivated in managing multiple priorities and to use time management techniques in order to complete job ignments in a timely manner;:Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;:Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations;:Ability to travel:Ability to maintain valid drivers license. 13; Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: 13; This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports. 13; 13; Hiring Salary: The annual minimum starting salary for this position is 30,082.00.
