Staff Civil Engineer

As a leader in providing consulting engineering services in the Northwest, we are currently seeking a qualified individual for the following open position in our Vancouver, WA office: STAFF CIVIL ENGINEER The perfect candidate will have 2-5 yrs’ experience as a consulting engineer, performing civil engineering design tasks associated with state and local municipal public works projects and private development projects. Position assignments/Duties: Work as a key member of the civil engineering design team; Perform civil engineering design tasks associated with state and local municipal public works projects and private development projects; Self-manage project design tasks and maintain active communication with senior staff throughout life of project; Effectively manage multiple assignments, and prioritize with input from project managers; Support the following work elements: day-to-day internal communication (verbal and written), support project team to develop PS&E documents, write sections of reports and technical memos, coordinate with project delivery team, and general understanding of project schedule and budget; Superior verbal and written correspondence abilities; Willingness to work in high energy environment supporting multiple project types and disciplines such as roadway, stormwater, traffic, fish passage, utility coordination & design, and private site developments; Flexibility and creativity in project approaches, and openness to learn and develop; Represent the company in a professional manner at all times; Participate and represent PBS in professional organizations and functions; Min Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; 2-five years of design experience; Experience with Ms office, AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Inroads, or other design software as appropriate; Excellent oral and writing skills; Willingness to work in high energy environment across multiple disciplines and project types; Flexibility and creativity in project approaches, and openness to learn and develop; Experience Working in a Consulting Firm or Municipal Engineering Department Familiarity with local development codes and standards; Experience in road and highway design in Oregon and/or Washington.
