Staff accountants play a crucial role in the day-to-day functionality if the firm. Job responsibilities include: P repa res basic and intermediary federal and state income tax returns for individuals and businesses. Prepares responses to IRS/State tax notices and correspondence. Effectively communicates with clients - answers questions , gathers necessary information for tax return and other projects, etc. Assists with advising clients on tax-related questions. Manages multiple client engagements completing them on time and within budget. Identifies issues and communicates progress with supervisors. Assists with research of technical tax issues related to return preparation. Develop s and maintains technical competencies and other skills . Actively seeks out and p articipates in training and continuing education opportunities. Has a solid understanding of the Firm's services . L istens for and identifies opportunities for the Firm t o provi d e addition al services to clients. Protects the confidentiality of client and Firm information. May assist with providing other client services such as payroll and/or bookkeeping . Performs other related duties as assigned.
