Position Overview: The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining accurate databases, financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to work collaboratively with team members across departments, and the willingness to support multiple administrative areas on a regular basis. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Controller. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable: Process accounts payable invoices and manage payment schedules. Process company credit card activity. Conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with credit policies. Data Entry and Reporting: Enter and maintain accurate data in various systems (Connectwise, Quotewerks, Business Central 365, and BrightGuage) Assist with preparing regular reports on operational performance, trends, and issues resolution. Ensure accurate database pricing and assist with database management. Inventory and Resource Management Monitor and manage inventory levels for necessary on hand stock, ensuring timely restocking. Maintain accurate records of assets, equipment and supplies. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Provide supporting documentation and detailed analysis for financial reports. Contribute to variance analyses and present findings to senior management. General Ledger Management: Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process. Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. Reconcile accounts monthly, including bank, credit card, and vendor accounts, and resolve any discrepancies. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts. Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for adjustments. Work with management to implement cost-saving strategies. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementing changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Develop and document procedures and workflows to streamline operations. Data Analysis and Other Tasks: Provide backup for other administrative functions. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for financial improvement. Assist with ad hoc financial projects, reports, and analysis as needed. Audit and compliance support Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred; entry-level candidates with internships or relevant coursework may also be considered. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Business Central, Connectwise, Quotewerks) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Knowledge: Basic understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Skills and Competencies: Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy. Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with team members and external parties. Problem-Solving: Capacity to identify discrepancies and resolve issues independently. Ethics and Integrity: High level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality.
