We are seeking students majoring in accounting, finance or other related majors who are looking to gain experience in tax and accounting work to join us as interns for Spring. Our internships are the first step toward finding a full-time position with us upon graduation. Our firm is growing and we are always looking for tax professionals that are looking to stay in the St Croix Valley Area. Our internship program will run from January through April 15th. We are open to discussing a full-time or part-time internship arrangement with the right candidates. As an intern, you will gain valuable experience working with CPAs and accountants on tax compliance and accounting. You will have the opportunity to: • Gain valuable, first-hand experience working side by side with CPAs and accountants in a busy tax office.• Prepare small business and individual income tax returns in accordance with firm standards under direction of managers.• Complete electronic tax workpapers to support tax returns prepared.• Review client documents to determine reportable items of income and deduction on tax returns, and prepare missing items lists as needed.• Assist with generating extensions and estimated tax payments and documentation.• Participate in tax training sessions to increase knowledge of tax preparation software and tax legislation.• Prepare accounting reconciliations in QuickBooks or similar accounting software as assigned. Qualifications: • Working towards a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field• On-track to graduate with 150 credits, preferred• Ability to work overtime as needed, preferred• Authorized to work in the United States
