Specification Writer & Construction Project Manager
The Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (INHP) now is recruiting for the position of Specification Writer & Construction Project Manager. This position will provide leadership to two areas including: homeowner repairs and home development including new construction and substantial rehabilitation. Develops written specifications to be used as standards for the project team made up the client, risk assessor, inspector, contractor and other vendors; Includes technical descriptions specifying material quality and quantity in the written specifications; Ensures material change orders meet company standards; Organizes and tracks specifications; Procures bids, handles the bid selection and coordinates the construction project schedule; Identifies and negotiates the acquisition of property to develop; Provides a fair and open process to recruit and recommend builders; Oversees the execution of the builder contract through punch-list items; Maintains communication with neighborhood representatives; Works with realtors to list and sell the homes; Receives, evaluates and recommends responses to purchase offers; Qualifications for the position include: bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience; a minimum of 2 years of construction industry experience; a certified home inspector license; knowledge and application of construction state (IN) and city (Marion) code requirements and a minimum of two years' customer service background working with clients, vendors and contractors.
