Job Summary The Sonographer is accountable for performing a variety of technical and diagnostic procedures in Ultrasound as assigned. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the ultrasound department, to include the ultrasound operations at the Breast Center. Participate in process improvement projects as designated by administration or director, such as patient satisfaction or other quality improvement projects. Ensure policies, standard protocols, and procedures are followed and maintained. - Participates in the instruction of students and other staff. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status. - Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department. Education and/or Experience Associate's degree is required. Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or accredited ultrasound school, or equivalent specialty. Must have passed the ARDMS, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer's board exam. A minimum of one year experience in general ultrasound and vascular procedures is preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in ultrasound or advanced certification in Ultrasound by ARDMS or equivalent. Work Schedule Day shift; 80 hours 2 weeks Every 4th holiday Call time once a week and every 4th-5th weekend Pay The hourly range for this position is listed below.
