Job Summary: The Shipping Clerk is responsible to pack, ship, wrap and label all products, as well as to create labels for shipments (UPS & FedEx). The Shipping Clerk with also handle all incoming material orders as well as pick and drop off for various outside processing activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Shipping: Wrap and package parts to secure safe transit Ensure the actual quantity and parts match required quantity and print Perform cycle counts on part inventory. Perform other duties as assigned Receiving: Receive material and supplies Verify qty and condition of goods Perform other duties as assigned Outside Process: Wrap parts to prevent damage in transit Record accurate count of parts on the work order Label parts with an outside process sticker and place with a copy of the print on the appropriate rack Perform other duties as assigned End of Day: Check inspection to ensure no additional parts are expected to ship Complete jobs for outside process and delivery that are leaving the next morning Print UPS end of day reports Make a hub run if needed TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Basic mathematics and computer skills Basic level knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Valid driver’s license required Ability to safely operate forklift BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates motivation and accountability to achieve individual and department goals Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members Demonstrates initiative and personal accountability to meet work demands and work effectively under pressure with little supervision Exercises sound judgment in ambiguous situations when time is critical Shows willingness to offer knowledge and insight to develop team members Ability to respond and adapt quickly to changing circumstances and facility needs Strong attention to detail and commitment to effectively produce high quality work Demonstrates teamwork EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED required Prior experience in a shipping/warehouse environment is a plus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit for extended periods. Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc., and handle and feel parts of various size. Ability to bend, kneel and crouch occasionally throughout the shift. Ability to push, pull or lift 75 lbs. moderately throughout the workday. Ability to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus. Perform other duties as assigned WORK ENVIRONMENT: Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme. Hearing protection will be provided if needed and/or by request. Exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles Moving mechanical parts and vibration Fast-paced environment WORK HOURS: 1 st Shift Work Schedule: 5 – 8-hour shifts Overtime as necessary TRAVEL: Travel is possible to other parts of California to deliver/pick up parts.
