Senior Structural Engineer

Description:
Seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with extensive heavy/highway civil construction experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client, a leading national civil construction company. This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental, and 401k! Salary is between $90,000 and $130,000 per year (based on experience). In this role, you will perform tasks requiring broad and/or deep knowledge in the field of heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering, including structural analysis, design, and preparation of construction drawings. Responsibilities: Perform structural analysis and design, including reinforced and pre-stressed concrete design, steel design, timber design, deep foundations, gravity-based foundations, earth retaining structures, crane pick plan/rigging, and bridge deck. Perform tasks on projects requiring a broad and / or deep knowledge in the field of heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering. Implement design and ensure conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Prepare and review calculations for analysis and prepare engineering reports, memoranda, and design submittals. Prepare working/draft construction drawings for AutoCAD drafter. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar from an accredited institution. 10 or more years of relevant experience, with bridge experience required. Master’s degree focused on structural engineering is preferred. PE license (NY or NJ) required, NY preferred. Proficient in using structural finite element analysis software tools such as MIDAS or RISA. Proficient working knowledge of Excel and Mathcad. Proficient working knowledge, understanding, and application of critical industry-accepted codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Specification and Construction Manual, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO, and AWS). Maintain membership in industry organizations (AISC, AWI, RCSC) and continued professional development for PE License. Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
