The Senior Estimator will support and work with preconstruction/BD staff in the review of project plans, requirements and specifications, and may organize a team of estimators to perform pricing, and bidding of projects. They service a wide variety of commercial projects anywhere from $1-$300 million & are looking for an experienced estimator to join their team. This individual will be able to hit the ground running & continue to grow within the organization. There is opportunity to grow into the chief estimating role within this company. Description The key responsibilities of the Senior Estimator (Detroit, MI) are to: Work with the client from the start of each project to ensure you understand the project scope and vision Prepare full general conditions estimates and analysis Prepare construction cost estimates with quantity take-offs and unit pricing Prepare scope documents per trade and include scope and project specific information Oversee the beginning of each turn-key project, including details like permit submission and design evaluations Reviews project proposal, drawings and plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project Collaborate with the architect and construction crew to ensure feasibility of each project Conduct meetings on-site with architect, client and construction crew Negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors Prepare and submit project estimates to clients Profile A successful Senior Estimator (Detroit, MI) candidate will possess: 7+ years of estimating experience Bachelor's degree in construction management or related area of study preferred Significant and diverse project experience with a commercial focus Ability to run projects from conception to completion Experience estimating projects up to $10 million Effective Communication Skills Working knowledge of commercial construction technology and details Strong Personal Drive to take on several challenges and grow professionally Job Offer On offer for an Senior Estimator (Detroit, MI) candidate is: Competitive salary of $130k-$160 K+ base (based on experience) with large bonus potential (up to 30% of base) Family Feel Company Culture Lots of Autonomy Clear career progression and promotion path (opportunity to grow into a Director of Pre-construction position in the near future) 401k Employer Match ESOP program Car allowance or company vehicle Gas card Paid maternity or paternity leave 4 weeks of PTO Company Sponsored outings MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
