The position entails managing complex criminal cases, client interaction, court appearances, and collaboration with a talented team of attorneys and legal professionals. Federal court experience is essential for this role.Duties:Provide expert legal counsel to clients regarding their rights and legal matters.Draft and prepare legal documents related to criminal cases.Represent clients at pretrial hearings, offering strategic guidance after each session.Manage all aspects of court appearances, trials, and legal proceedings.Draft motions, conduct witness interviews, and perform in-depth legal research.Analyze case outcomes based on legal precedents and current case facts.Handle and organize a substantial caseload efficiently, ensuring thorough attention to each case.Gather additional evidence to strengthen the client's position or challenge the prosecution’s claims.Assist clients with deposition preparation, outlining critical case strategies, and gathering relevant information from witnesses and experts.Requirements:Minimum 4-5 years of experience in criminal defense, including managing complex state, local, and federal cases.Proven ability to handle high-stakes cases in criminal law, particularly in federal court.Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.A team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to collaborate and strategize with other legal professionals.Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.Exceptional interpersonal skills and professionalism in client interactions.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active membership in the State Bar of California.Certifications:Admitted to practice law in California (or the ability to become admitted).Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in complex legal matters.Expertise in criminal defense law, particularly with federal cases.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven time-management skills and the ability to juggle multiple cases simultaneously.Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.Job Location:Sacramento, CaliforniaBenefits:Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid parking.Competitive compensation package.Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within a growing law firm.A supportive, collaborative work environment with a strong emphasis on mentorship and career development.
