Position Status: Regular, Full-Time, Exempt Reports To: The Partners Compensation Range: $140,000 – $175,000 per year Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid, one day a week remote) Position Overview: Two partner law firm in downtown San Francisco is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Associate Family Law Attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our partners and clients to provide high-quality legal representation and counsel. About You, the ideal Candidate: You have a high level of emotional intelligence. You recognize that clients are going through a stressful and challenging time in their life. You can remain empathetic but objective, calm under pressure, and focus on the big picture. You are willing to have hard conversations with clients, including telling them information they may not want to hear. You understand that client control is necessary. You will advocate for their interests, but prefer to explore all options for settlement before litigating matters. You are dedicated to the practice of family law with the goal of Specialist Certification. You prefer to practice law without the burden of business development. You are able to work both independently and in collaboration with the partners and paralegal staff. You may have cases assigned to you exclusively and you will also be doing work for the partners as needed (drafting motions, reviewing discovery, etc.) You may not have all the answers, but you know how to issue spot, make suggestions, and where to seek answers. You have good time management skills. You are able to timely turn around projects and plan your time accordingly so that filings are not rushed or put a burden on other staff members. Responsibilities would include: Drafting and responding to discovery, including reviewing documents, drafting meet and confer letters, and filing any necessary motion to compel. Taking a dissolution or parentage matter from start to finish. Filing necessary Petition/Responses, temporary motions, and financial disclosures. Bringing matters to conclusion through settlement or trial. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES - REQUIRED Must be authorized to work in the United States. Five to ten years of experience. Familiar with Microsoft Office, Attorney’s Briefcase, Dissomaster, Propertizer, and other family law software. Attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to work in-office from 9-5pm four days per week, with one potential work-from-home day, and ar Willing to work hard during business hours. On the work-from-home day, you will be available and in communication as needed. You have a life outside of the office, but understand that sometimes deadlines and workload may require you to work after 5pm. Annual billable hour requirements range from 1,300-1,500. Experience drafting and reviewing premarital agreements is a plus. About us: Two Certified Family Law Specialists with approximately 40 years of combined experience in family law. We take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We respect our employees and appreciate their hard work. We are able to mentor you and provide guidance, experience and the opportunity to work on a wide range of dissolution and parentage cases. We practice primarily in San Francisco, Marin, San Mateo, Alameda, and Contra Costa Counties.
