This role involves overseeing the appeals process, conducting in-depth legal research, and providing strategic guidance on immigration cases. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in immigration law, particularly in handling RFEs, NOIDs, and appeals, with a strong commitment to advocating for clients in complex immigration matters.Location:Powell, OhioDuties:Develop and establish processes for appealing USCIS decisions, including the filing of Form I-290B and pursuing federal litigation optionsAnalyze USCIS communications, such as RFEs, NOIDs, and application denials, to determine appropriate responsesManage a team focused on appeals and RFE responses, ensuring deadlines are met and responses are continually improvedProvide training to non-attorney team members and address legal questions related to appeals and RFEsOffer feedback to both legal and non-legal staff to enhance overall quality and performanceReview application materials and identify additional evidence required for USCIS submissionsConduct legal and factual research to support appeals and RFE responsesDraft and edit legal documents, including cover letters, motions, and briefsRequirements:Minimum of five years of experience as an attorney, with at least one year specializing in immigration lawExperience in drafting responses to RFEs and NOIDs; familiarity with VAWA, T-Visa, U-Visa, Asylum, or Medical Deferred Action cases is advantageousProven ability to handle appeal briefs and federal litigation involving USCIS decisionsExperience managing a legal team and coordinating with non-attorney staffEducation:Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law schoolCertifications:Active license to practice law in any U.S. state or territorySkills:Strong legal research and writing skills, with a keen attention to detailProficient in drafting immigration-related documents and legal briefsExcellent organizational and communication skillsBilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferredExperience in a state or federal clerkship is a plusBenefits:Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environmentProfessional growth and development opportunitiesImpactful role advocating for clients in complex immigration matters
