By joining Habitat Bucks, you can make a meaningful impact while growing your accounting career in a nonprofit setting filled with purpose and opportunity!**Key Responsibilities:** As a Senior Accountant, you'll be central to our ReStore operations, focusing on:**Daily/Weekly:**- Accurately record in-store and online daily sales transactions, reconciling POS activities with the general ledger in close collaboration with our team and financial institutions.- Ensure timely collection, counting, and recording of ReStore monetary donations, communicating effectively with our donor relations team.- Act as the go-to expert for our POS system and related merchant accounts, providing essential finance support.- Collaborate with Human Resources on the bi-weekly payroll submission for the ReStore.- Manage affiliate fleet cards meticulously, overseeing tracking, expense coding, and submission to accounts payable.**Monthly/Annually:**- Prepare monthly accrual journal entries for all ReStores.- Monitor gift card transactions, ensuring accurate recording and performing essential reserve analysis.- Handle all aspects of state sales tax, from compliance documentation to transaction auditing and monthly filing.- Engage in monthly reconciliation processes, analyzing inventory and cost of goods sold.- Work closely with ReStore Managers, discussing financials, identifying budget variances, and aiding in annual budget preparations.**Additional Responsibilities:**- Conduct research and monitor any merchant disputes as they arise.- Assist with cash deposits and maintain training procedures for POS operations.- Serve as the key liaison for Warminster facilities and collaborate with the CFO/COO on annual audits and key accounting tasks.**Are You the Right Fit?** To excel in this role, you should have:- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and QuickBooks- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills- A minimum of four years of progressive accounting experience with at least two years at a senior level- Desired expertise in retail accounting- Familiarity with federal, state, and local nonprofit compliance and reporting requirements- A relevant accounting degree to strengthen your qualifications
