Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will focus on the technical aspects of financial reporting and regulatorycompliance for Aeropay. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical abilities,capable of exercising independent judgment and discretion in overseeing accounting operationsand reporting. This is an opportunity for an experienced self-starter looking to grow intoleadership of the full-cycle accounting function. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-orientedand has a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data to support strategic decision-making Account Reconciliation: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately Prepare journal entries and play a leading role in month-end close processes Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Stay updated on tax laws and regulations affecting the organization Audit Support: Prepare necessary documentation for internal and external audits and assist auditors as needed Implement recommendations from audit findings to improve financial processes Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and improve efficiency across the finance team Collaborate with team members to implement best practices and streamline workflows Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field Must possess a current CPA designation or demonstrate a near-term pathway to obtaining CPA licensing 3-5+ years of relevant work experience in accounting or a related role Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and practices Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional Excel skills Experience working with general ledger systems, AR/AP systems and data visualization tools Highly organized with a detail-oriented mindset Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
