Make a difference with us at WestLand! WestLand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. WestLand's flexible work environment means that the successful candidate may be based in either our Tucson or Phoenix offices. The Senior Accountant will work with budgets, data, and with department heads to ensure that costing is captured accurately and in a timely manner. Reporting and auditing will be a significant part of this role. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, comfortable using analytics software, and analytically focused. This position also provides back-up support to the Accounting Manager and will provide additional leadership to the greater Finance team. What will I be doing? Analyzing variances from budgets. Completing account reconciliations Creating dashboards and other analytic reports with software like Power BI and Tableau. Auditing GLs, project data, employee data, and vendor & client records. Auditing fixed assets annually. Test sampling payroll and benefit transactions. Preparing and updating budget templates and providing guidance to complete them. Compiling budgets for review by the CEO, CFO, and COO. Preparing financial reports from WestLand's ERP system. Preparing indirect cost rate proposals for FAR, Washington State DOT, and other similar entities. Acting as a back up for the Accounting Manager including support in online banking, remote deposits, journal entries, and account reconciliations. What qualifications are required for this role? Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA or CMA preferred. A minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible financial experience. Comfortable working with ERP systems and data analytics software like Tableau and Power BI. Other required experience to include: Familiarity with Job Cost Accounting. Knowledge of all aspects of accounting (Invoicing, A/R, A/P, Payroll, GL, Revenue Recognition). Performing financial reporting (Accrual and Cash Basis). Supporting corporate budget development and tracking. Analysis of financial data. Use of MS Word and Outlook. Advanced Excel skills. Maintenance of financial controls. Compiling Information for and interfacing with outside auditors and tax preparers. Experience with FAR regulations would be considered an asset. Experience with Delteck VantagePoint would be considered an asset. Experience working in a consulting environment preferred. What does WestLand offer you?
