For details on the job fair and to RSVP, please click here: https://forms.office.com/g/6G6F81Nix5 Job Summary This position works mostly outdoors while assisting district staff and volunteers in the coordination and execution of a wide variety of events and programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform set-up and tear-down tasks for District events, including moving tables and chairs, placing signage, decorating, and preparing necessary equipment such as whiteboards or projectors.• Perform registration and check-in of visitors and volunteers.• Operate District vehicles including Golf Carts and UTVs.• Greet and provide direction to site visitors during events.• Provide District information to the public regarding the preserves, facility operations, recreational opportunities, rules, and regulations.• Inspect event areas for safety and cleanliness.• Keep neat and accurate records including visitor logs, event sign-in/sign-out sheets, and event reports.• Foster a working environment that promotes safe work habits; Become familiar with and observe all applicable safety rules, policies, and work procedures; Follow all safety rules that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the District's safety and risk management program; Keep work area clean, orderly, and free of hazards; Immediately report all unsafe conditions and incidents.• Maintain a supportive working environment and demonstrate a desire to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.• Perform other duties as required. Requirements: • 16 years of age or older at time of hire.• Must have and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or obtain upon hire (training provided).• Must have and maintain Illinois Mandated Reporter certification or obtain upon hire (training provided).• Previous experience in event coordination or planning.• Ability to deal effectively with the public.• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Schedule: Weekends required (8 hours); weekdays based on activities (6 hours) = 36 hours per week. Start: May 2025. Pay: $17 per hour. Work Environment: Based out of the St James Farm Preserve, this position will assist with overseeing multiple events at the location and interacting with the public. This position requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. There is exposure to uneven terrain, working in pastures and barns, loud noise, dust, smoke, wildlife, domestic animals, and large animals. Location: St James Farm Preserve in Warrenville.
