SUMMARY: Goodrich Lumber, a member of the Kodiak Building Partners Co. is a retail lumber and building materials company located in Kingston, MA. We are seeking a qualified candidate for the Store Manager position. The Store Manager position is responsible for the day to day operation of the hardware store, sales counter, and showroom. Coordinating employee coverage, training, merchandising, vendor relations, and support of our outside sales staff. JOB DESCRIPTION Customer service and relationships are the primary focus. Be proactive and engaged with business development. Member of the management team including opening and closing duties. Coordinate with vendors product merchandising, displays & literature, product knowledge training, evaluate new products, and promotions. Building material product knowledge to include industry software like 2020, M2O, Andersen Access, etc, a plus. Coordinate team support for outside sales staff. Management of the point of sale team to include: motivate and maintain a productive and knowledgeable team; interview, hire and train employees; evaluate performance with annual employee reviews; and problem solving. POSITION EXPECTATIONS Very strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrate an understanding of products and be able to educate and train sales staff. Manage staff daily to ensure proper sales floor coverage. REQUIREMENTS Working knowledge of a POS system, Microsoft Office 2+ years employee management experience. Knowledge of building materials, construction, and bi-lingual with Spanish or Portuguese a plus. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000/year; full time salaried position. Insurance benefits include: health, vision & dental plans - 70% paid for by Goodrich, short-term & long-term disability - 60% of your base pay is paid after days of loss (subject to insurance company terms & conditions), paid by Goodrich. $35,000 Life insurance policy paid by Goodrich. Additional insurance is available at employee cost. 401k plan eligible after 6 months continuous employment. Company match of 33% of employee contribution. Goodrich contribution has a 3% cap. Subject to annual approval. Paid Time Off (PTO): Is earned at a rate of 2 hrs. per week with a maximum of 104 hours/year in the first five years of employment and a rate of 2.77 hours per week with a maximum of 144 hours/year beginning with your sixty first month of employment. Pre-employment drug/alcohol testing and background check required.
