Rug Sample Librarian (NY)

Description:
Holland & Sherry is in search of a Rug Sample Librarian to join our team in New York. This is a full-time, in-person position based in our showroom within the Decoration & Design Building. Hours are 8:45 am – 5:30 pm. This person will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the rug sampling program. This position requires a combination of administrative and hands on tasks to keep the sample library organized and running smoothly. Some moderate lifting is required. Job Responsibilities: • Fulfills and ships out showroom sample requests • Oversees sample returns from showrooms • Conducts replenishment orders of samples for all collections including marketing materials • Stocks and organizes samples and sample tools within the warehouse • Ensures inventory control and maintenance of all samples, supplies, and equipment • Maintain stock shelving & rack system including new collection placement • Receives, inspects, labels, photographs and ships out rug strike offs • Serves as liaison among various departments including sales and product managers • Assists with launching collection sampling as needed Requirements: • High School Diploma or equivalent • 1 to 2 years relevant work experience • Experience in a library/catalog setting or the interior design industry is preferred • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organizational skills • Excellent attention to detail • Must be able to comfortably lift 20 LB • Ability to follow internal procedures and systems • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment with flexibility and resilience Holland & Sherry is an industry leader and source of high-quality textiles for the interior design trade, committed to providing innovative and custom solutions for our clients.
