Travel Nurse Source is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in New York City, New York, 10029 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Pediatric Oncology Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12 4th shift required per month every other weekend) Guaranteed Hours: 34.50 Experience: Pediatric Oncology experience required License: Registered Nurse with current registration in New York State Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; APHON or CPON highly preferred Must-Have: Pediatric experience Job Description: - Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of Relationship-Centered Care through the application of the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved nursing standards. - Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management. - Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. - Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning post-hospital care, delegating tasks as appropriate. - Educate patients and caregivers, anticipating needs and readiness to learn, about their plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention. - Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team. - Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model and demonstrate effective allocation of material resources. - Project a professional image and communicate in styles that demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, and empathy. - Incorporate ethical principles into decision-making for patients and families. - Encourage and demonstrate a spirit of scholarship, inquiry, life-long learning, and innovation. - Role model Relationship-Centered Care by facilitating actions including Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and purposeful rounding. - Use evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patient perceptions of care. - Initiate service recovery for patients and family members who express concerns, escalating issues as needed. - Practice safe, efficient patient-centered care, identifying barriers and opportunities for improvement. - Implement process improvement strategies based on evidence-based practices. - Contribute to quality and safety practices and required compliance measures. - Utilize information technology to support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
