Retail Attendant, Part-Time
Position description Washington College is seeking applicants who are qualified for a Part time Retail Attendant. This position prepares, presents, and serves food, with some cash handling involved. The Retail Attendant will work at either 1 of Washington College’s on-campus retail locations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prep work including, washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding vegetables and fruits along with weighing and measuring designated ingredients Responsible for using commercial and non-commercial kitchen equipment, which include slicers, mixers, steamers, ovens, stoves, kettles and other equipment needed to complete tasks May be responsible for cooking food in fryers, on grills or char broilers and in ovens Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements Performs sales transactions in a reasonable and timely fashion Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner following outlined steps of service Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner Assists with daily and weekly cleaning of the dining service areas of operation so that it meets operating standards Requirements: High-school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required; or 1 to 3 mons related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and background. Must possess basic math expertise and the expertise to multi-task. Schedule may include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
