Job Description – Resource Optimization Manager (ROM) Summary of Job Purpose and Function The primary purpose and function of the Resource Optimization Manager (ROM) is to lead and manage under the direction and guidance of the VP of Hospital Support, the ROM will work strategically to support the achievement of financial, medical, and regulatory goals for assigned veterinary hospitals. The ROM will work closely with Medial Directors, Operations Advisors, and other support team members to identify critical initiatives requiring standardization, optimization, and process improvement. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Live and exemplify the Mission, Vision, and principals of United Veterinary Care Partner with the Operations Advisor and Medical Director to manage the hospital as role models and champions of United Veterinary Care’s brand to provide consistent high quality care and unmatched client experience to the most pets and clients and to maximize compliance, efficiency, productivity and profitability. Build collaborate relationships: build strong professional relationships with UVC team members. Consistent and regular communication with Medical Director and Operations Advisor Financial Objectives Develop and Deliver Pricing and Service Optimization Recommendations Monitor UVC Contract Pricing and Ensure it is being obtained across the platform Standardize the Inventory Management Process Ensure the compliance of New and Existing Vendor Contracts Identify and implement new areas of hospital growth through new services, product introductions, and hospital expansion projects Standardize and Optimize the Practice Management Software with an emphasis on Product, Pricing, and reminder codes Provide Vetcove Training and Development Train and Develop Inventory Champions on best practices Oversee Bi Annual Inventory Counts Facilitate and manage the execution and approval of all Capital Expense and repair & Maintenance requests Medical Objectives Work closely with the Medical Directors to identify areas of patient care improvement and efficiency through the introduction of new equipment and services Assist the hospital leadership team in the development and implementation of hospital specific standards of care Measure and Develop a Client Compliance Report Card with an emphasis on the AAHA Standards of Care recommendations Regulatory Objectives Standardize and Ensure hospitals are maintaining appropriate licensing and certifications Standardize and Assist hospital with risk management / OSHA Certifications Assist in claims filing and best practices for GL and commercial insurance practices and policies Controlled drug risk management, tracking, licensing Work with HR Managers to ensure proper implementation HR regulatory matters (claims, etc) Qualifications/Requirements : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred; MBA or other advanced degree, a plus. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operations of veterinary hospitals, including specialty and 24/7 emergency operations. Knowledge Preferred : Demonstrates extensive knowledge of operations, management training, and budgeting, including financial results and KPI’s. E xperience with acquisitions in the veterinary and/or healthcare industry preferred. Skills Preferred : Strong operations, financial and management training, experience and skills. Manage and conduct analyses of weekly, monthly, quarterly, reviews of financial results, KPI’s and other required data. Demonstrate proven success and ability to develop collaborative relationships while providing the highest quality impact . Build strong, collaborative relationships with team members and foster a productive teamwork environment. Deliver significant business results that reflects strategic and creative thinking, problem solving, individual initiative Identifying and addressing operational needs, while building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of trusted collaborative relationships. Effectively manage resource requirements, project workflow, and status updates. Communicate effectively in written and oral formats to various situations and audiences. Facilitate working sessions of medium to large sized groups. Is independent yet communicates priorities clearly to his/her manager; is comfortable working in multiple projects at a time and able to shift focus quickly as priorities change. Possesses or develops credible knowledge/expertise in the veterinary industry. Teamwork & Collaboration: The ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support. Readily sharing information, knowledge, and personal strengths. Seeking to understand and building on differing perspectives of others to enhance team efficiency and quality outcomes, fostering collaboration and teamwork, enhancing team effectiveness, ensuring alignment, proactively assisting and involving and supporting others, advising and resolving conflict, building bridges and collaboration between teams.
