Philadelphia FIGHT Client Services Resource Navigator Job Description Philadelphia FIGHT is a leading Federally Qualified Health Center with four clinical sites, providing access to state-of-the art, culturally competent primary care, advocacy, social services, consumer education, and outreach for all patients in need, regardless of HIV status or insurance status. Philadelphia FIGHT, initially founded in 1990 as a comprehensive AIDS service organization, is now a Federally Qualified Health Center with four clinical sites, providing access to state-of-the art, culturally competent primary care, advocacy, social services, consumer education, and outreach for all patients in need, regardless of HIV status or insurance status. The Resource Navigator position is responsible for raising awareness of affordable insurance options and providing eligibility and enrollment assistance to uninsured patients of Philadelphia FIGHT's Jonathan Lax Treatment Center, John Bell Health Clinic, YHEP/Peds Health Clinic and Dental Clinic. This includes enrolling patients in public benefits, including but not limited to: Medicaid/MAWD/ Emergency Medical Assistance; Medicare Extra Help/Medicare Savings Program; SNAP; LIHEAP; CAP/CRP; PACE/PACENET; Home Waiver IEB; Hospital Financial Assistance/Charity Care; Property Tax/Rent Rebates. This position is in collaboration with the Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity and BenePhilly. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred (candidates without bachelor's degree but who demonstrate experience and expertise in obtaining health insurance benefits for patient's may be considered) Ability and desire to work productively with highly stigmatized and diverse populations using a strength-based framework. Familiarity with and understanding of insurance enrollment and Pennsylvania County Assistance benefits applications. Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Additional experience with online benefit application databases and Electronic Medical Record programs, preferred. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task and excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is desired. Ability to work from home with WiFi and Computer Access as needed. Required Screenings Must complete Philadelphia FIGHT Credentialing and Privileging to provide direct services with Federally Qualified Health Centers. Philadelphia FIGHT requires proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series for all new employees hired. Medical and religious exemptions will be honored consistent with EEOC regulation. Job Tasks and Responsibilities: Assess uninsured patients' potential eligibility for Pennsylvania Medicaid, CHIP and/or affordable insurance coverage, complete Medicaid applications, and refer patients to the affordable insurance exchange where applicable. Assess all patient's potential eligibility for all other benefits offered through the BenePhilly Program and offer assistance in obtaining these benefits. Collect necessary documentation for public benefit enrollments and update collected insurance information in the EMR. Assist patients receiving an insurance plan for their specific needs and to receive optimal coverage. Maintain communication with Philadelphia FIGHT medical administrative and case management staff to follow up on the status of patient applications. Complete and comply with all BenePhilly meeting, reporting and training mandates. Attend department meetings and individual supervision regularly. Comply with all charting requirements. Agree to serve patients' best interests and maintain confidentiality standards in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, specifically including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Confidentiality of HIV Related Information Act (Act 148). Refer patients to other resources and case management as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Contribute as a team member and share in the responsibilities required to maintain operations and serve the mission of Philadelphia FIGHT. This includes, but is not limited to, obtaining training, participating in events, flexibility in scheduling, covering the commitments of coworkers when they are unable, and other duties as assigned. Physical and mental requirements: Ability to work under pressure and be creative and analytical. Ability to continuously stand, walk or sit. Ability to work at a computer screen for long periods of time. Other: Initial probationary period is three months. Generally, works in a clinical office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical clinical setting. Hybrid office/work from home setting. Salary range: $45,000 - $47,000. Competitive employee benefits, (medical, dental & vision insurance begin on first day of employment).
