Salary 100% Commission, General DescriptionThe Residential Sales Consultant is an outside sales position responsible for developing Service Experts residential sales and services to increase revenue, through customer presentations and lead generation. The sales consultant should be highly ambitious, results oriented, and self-motivated.Duties & Responsibilities- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.- Works with administrative staff, installers, and Branch Manager to ensure that installation is scheduled and completed according to workplace standards and the customer's satisfaction.- Revenue Growth- Demonstrates professionalism, diplomacy, and tact to uphold company's community reputation. Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and concerns- Reports any unsafe acts, conditions and hazards to direct supervisor/manager immediately.- Does not perform act that may endanger the safety or well being of others- Effectively communicates with customer to resolve concerns, issues, or complaints in order to assure total customer satisfaction.- Prepares and/or completes all required documentation and obtains customer's signature.- Corrects substandard acts or conditions within area of control.- Excellent customer-service, communication, and people skills.- Knowledge of basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)- Meets or exceeds set Key Performance Indicators including:- Lead Generation- High-school graduation or GED. Post-secondary education preferred.- Revenue per Appointment- Must be able to work unaided and exercise judgment and discretion within authorized limits.- Reports any contravention of legislation or company policy, procedure or program to direct supervisor/manager immediately.- Prior sales background with a preference for background with direct selling to consumers in such fields as life insurance, financial services, in-home security, water treatment, pest control, home improvement, and other residential product and service areas.- Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of customer-focused service.- Operates devises or equipment as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s)- Strong written, spoken communication and management expertise. - Utilizes Service Experts marketing data, tools and promotions to maximize sales effectiveness.- Never removes or renders ineffective any safety guards, devices, or clothing prescribed to be in place or worn.- Uses and maintains appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s)- Reports all injuries or incidents as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s) immediately.- Comply with all Service Experts safety policies, procedures, and practices.- Participates in any safety initiatives, teams, or committees.- Close Rate- Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of the operational functionality of residential heating, air conditioner, and ventilation equipment as well as related accessories.- Available to work flexible scheduling and on-call shifts as needed. Availability for local appointments including nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate the potential client's schedule.- Generates sales through various customer prospecting techniques such as cold calling, customer referrals, personal networking, and customer contact.- Provides input on developing safety initiatives and plans to eliminate exposures that could cause accidents.- Consults with customer on HVAC and indoor-air quality needs, delivers sales presentation utilizing company-established sales process, and closes sale to provide the customer with the best solution for the customer's budget. Suggest additional and/or alternative products or service to meet customer needs.- Complies with the general rules as prescribed by company program(s) procedure(s)- Updates company systems following defined processes and procedures in order to process paperwork and details for new accounts and maintain records of results from all sales visits.- Understand and be able to use both the imperial and metric measurement systems.- Service Agreement sales- Performs similar/other duties as assigned.Health & Safety Roles & Responsibilities:- Conducts customer and technical assessments, and calculates heat gain and loss and load calculations, and prepares cost estimate for equipment and accessories.- Conducts customer follow-up on completion of installation, including photographing installation, reviewing system operation, and requesting referrals.- Does not engage in any pranks, contests, or rough boisterous behavior.- Functional technical skills with current understanding of Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, Outlook, and related software programs.- Participates in showroom duties, home show scheduled events, training, meetings and any other event requests by the company- Strong selling and business-development skills. Effective at a consultative and collaborative sales approach and at generating own sales leads.- Works in compliance with applicable legislative requirement.Requirements- Understanding of basic business accounting to understand job costing, profit margin, and cost of sales.- Expertise to climb ladders and attic stairs and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units and to take measurements.
