University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department: Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Job Title: Research Associate Position #:00815915 - Requisition #:31246 Job Summary: The laboratory of Ning Zhao at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus (www.ningzhaolab.com) is looking for a motivated and ambitious Research Services Senior Professional to join their team. The Ning Zhao lab studies gene regulation and protein co-translational folding in health and disease. The lab employs a combination of advanced techniques in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and state-of-art single-molecule tracking in living cells to understand the mechanisms of gene regulation and co-translational folding in a native intracellular environment. As a Research Associate, you will play a key role in leading the projects, publishing papers, assisting grant applications, and training junior scientists. Your expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, such as PCR, cloning, plasmid preparation, and western blotting will be essential. You will also work with cell cultures and have proficiency in advanced methods like generating stable cell lines, genome editing, smFISH, IF, Co-IP, fluorescence microscopy and image analysis, and mass spectrometry. PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology & Biochemistry Record of productivity supported by peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals Preferred Qualifications: Significant experience in one or more of the following: Cell culture of primary cells and cancer cell lines Molecular biology techniques including cloning, mutagenesis, PCR, gel electrophoresis, immunofluorescence, co-immunoprecipitation, and western blots.
