Issue required statements to customers and interface with customer regulatory representatives. Manage response to regulatory requests made via online databases. Assure supplied materials are compliant. * Ensure the accuracy and upkeep of the content, structure and organization related to systems and procedures that outline the approved approach to Regulatory systems for Silgan Closures. * Maintain effective and proactive relationships with material supply on regulatory matters. * Research and assess the potential impact of legislative, regulatory and policy initiatives that apply to Silgan Closures products and services. * Attend industry meetings and review industry updates and disseminate relevant information. * Generate reports as needed and audit systems to ensure compliance, while communicating to the appropriate personnel within the organization of changes to the system. * Ensure leadership role and awareness of regulatory food packaging materials developments. * Provide semi-annual regulatory update presentations to Quality Managers, other staff and customers as needed. * Implement procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of GFSA/Food Safety Schemes and conduct training. * Maintain confidentiality of all customer and supplier programs and agency information and if necessary, discuss such information privately with appropriate personnel.You'll love it here if you: * Enjoy providing accurate and timely service. * Like to treat all customers and co-workers with respect and professionalism. * Like to implement company procedures to comply with relevant legislation. * Like to work with material group and third-party labs to assess migration testing needs.What you'll need to have: * Bachelor's degree in related field- Law, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Materials, or related industry * Minimum 5 years of experience in food packaging materials compliance * Excellent verbal and written organizational and communication skills * Working knowledge of project management, benchmarking, regulatory food packaging compliance, and quality tool * Knowledgeable in PC Microsoft Office Programs-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project * Willingness and ability to travel to customer, trade associations, Silgan manufacturing and supplier locations * Preferred Qualifications * Additional experience in industrial laboratory with increasing responsibilities, managerial experience, FDA and EPA regulatory compliance * Ability to interface well with technical, manufacturing and marketing on cross-functional teams with customer focus * Closures industry experienceWho we are: * Global Fortune 500 packaging company with 109 manufacturing facilities in North and South America, Europe, and Asia * A supplier of sustainable metal and plastic packaging solutions for consumer goods products for food, beverage, health care, garden, home, personal care, and beauty products * A stable, reliable, and environmentally conscious companyLIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMERThe above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position.All job requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
