Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) - Vaccination Clinic Location : Gallup Indian Medical Center, 1808 W. Aztec Avenue, Gallup, NM 87301 Reports to : Assistant Chief Nurse – Outpatient Job Summary The Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC) seeks experienced Registered Nurses to provide vaccination services in the Vaccination Clinic as part of the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS). This role focuses on delivering high-quality vaccination care to support the health and wellness of patients. The position requires adherence to healthcare protocols and respect for cultural sensitivities, serving a diverse patient population. Key Responsibilities Patient Care : Provide vaccination services, manage patient care needs, and ensure documentation meets healthcare standards. Competency Adherence : Maintain compliance with HIPAA, patient rights, and privacy regulations. Emergency Protocols : Knowledgeable in emergency codes and EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act) compliance. Cultural Competency : Demonstrate understanding and respect for Navajo and Zuni cultural practices. Qualifications and Certifications Education : Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. Licensure : Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Mexico. Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Vaccination and Immunization : Up-to-date vaccinations and immunizations as per CDC guidelines. Experience : Previous experience in vaccination or outpatient clinics preferred. Background Check : Must pass a federal background check, including child protection provisions, per the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Act. Work Schedule Tour of Duty : Flexible shifts coordinated with the Nursing Supervisor. Includes potential for 8- or 12-hour shifts, weekend, and holiday coverage as necessary. Period of Performance : Initial assignment for 6 months, with potential for extension. Other Requirements Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) : Provided by GIMC. Uniform : Required to wear approved uniforms and lab coats in accordance with GIMC standards. Professional Conduct : Maintain cooperative, dependable, and ethical behavior aligning with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
