Ensuring patients are fully informed of the planned treatment, including post operative care and instructions. Provide answers to all patients' queries and questions or escalates appropriately.Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies of the organization. This is a Surgical Services Department of Nursing Service position specializing in Outpatient surgery. This position provides delivery of patient care with the knowledge of a Registered Nurse.Minimum Qualifications: Must have a valid Utah state nursing license or compact state licenseBasic Life Support within 60days of hire(BLS) - -Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire -Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)within 6 months of hire.Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
