Whether you receive medical care, utilize rehabilitative therapy or participate in a community screening, MedStar St. Mary's Hospital places a priority on delivering a positive healthcare experience.Unit Highlights Patients treated on this unit commonly present with the same disease processes seen on the medical units, but require more frequent nursing intervention and increased resources/monitoring. Often, patients are downgraded from Intensive Care to Intermediate Care, or may be upgraded from a medical status or admitted directly to intermediate care from the ED due to the acuity of their illness. 3C also takes medical overflow patients, based on the needs of the hospital. Stroke, TIA, Congestive Heart Failure, Atrial Fibrillation/Atrial Flutter, Chest Pain, NSTEMI, COPD, Pleural Effusion, Pneumonia, Cellulitis, Complicated Wound Infections, Renal Failure, Substance Abuse, and non-orthopedic general surgical cases such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, etc. -Number of beds: 16; Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4-5 (IMC), 1:5-6 (Medicine) Key Responsibilities As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.
