AvaMed, Inc. has secured a contract to provide HealthCare providers to ALL Correctional Facilities in California. At the moment we are in URGENT need of a Registered Dietitian to take on a Full Time assignment at the correctional facility located in Vacaville, CA. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. Position Details: Full Time Registered Dietitian Vacaville, CA Monday- Friday 8:00am- 4:30pm Pay rate: $55/ hr as an Independent Contractor/ 1099 Weekly Pay via Direct Deposit Job Description: Under the direction of the Institution’s CEO/CME or designee, the Temporary/Relief Registered Dietitianshall provide services as permitted within the scope of practice for Registered Dietitian in accordance withInstitution policies and procedures. Registered Dietitian duties include, but are not limited to the following:a. Under the direction/supervision of the Institution’s CEO/CME or designee, theRegistered Dietitian shall assist and advise clinical personnel on special nutritionalneeds within the scope of practice for a Registered Dietitian in the State of California;b. Plan dietary intervention and strategies; attend interdisciplinary team conferences;monitor and document nutritional needs and goals; may accept or transmit verbal orelectronically transmitted orders from physicians consistent with an establishedprotocol to implement medical nutrition therapy; orders medical laboratory tests relatedto medical nutrition therapy within established protocols; interpret prescription diets;plan regular and special therapeutic diets; establish menus and recipes for use by foodproduction personnel; authorize substitution or modification of diets; plan and conducttraining programs for facility staff, clients, patients and others; and adhere to foodsafety and infection control standards;c. Conduct and complete within seventy-two (72) hours of physician's order, nutritionassessment by consulting with patient/youth, evaluating their nutritional needs, andprovide nutritional counseling, as needed, when referred by a physician. TheTemporary/Relief Registered Dietitian shall acknowledge that patient/youth mayinclude diabetics, renal, hypertensive, HIV positive, and acute/chronic illness;d. Collect information on patient/youth nutritional history;e. Participate in committees relating to nutrition, food service, bioethics, performanceimprovement/quality assurance and other issues;f. Instruct institutional food service employees on the preparation and distribution ofmedical diets and provide dietary staff with alternative food product suggestions orallowed/acceptable food substitutions as needed;g. Provide follow-up consultations with patient/youth as needed or as ordered by aphysician;h. Maintain professional working relationship between Food Services, CorrectionalHealthcare Services staff; and custodial staff;i. Comply with and practice universal safety precautions;j. Maintain CDCR's security policy at all times;k. Maintain a safe work environment at all times;I. Monitor the clinic dietary service program in the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF),Correctional Treatment Center (CTC), and/or Licensed Hospital to ensure compliancewith the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, SNF/CTC Dietary Servicesrequirements and ensures inpatient area dietary menus are current in accordance withregulations, policies and procedures, and;m. Prepare written dietary service status reports each month, including assessments,follow-ups completed, and recommendations for dietary policies and procedures. Powered by JazzHR
