We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for one of our clients who are based in St Helens. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is a permanent role paying up to £40,000 per annum, this includes on call payments. The role: There is an opportunity for a suitably qualified and talented individual to join the Refractory Services Team. The job demands enthusiasm, motivation and innovation to maintain and develop knowledge and specialist skills specifically related to refractory engineering, maintenance and construction. Refractory Services’ primary role is to ensure all furnaces and baths within the Group are built and repaired to the highest standards and thereafter promote preventative maintenance with the objective of minimising downtime and extending furnace and bath life for greater capital utilisation. There will be a requirement to travel overseas to other parts of the group a few times per year. Responsibilities – The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for: Ambassador of Safety: Construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities. Furnace Maintenance: working in elevated temperatures Working a 1 in 5 weeks on call rota. Manufacture: key Refractory spares and assemblies as required, utilising specialist machinery in our machine workshop facility Supervision: when suitably trained, be deployed overseas for periods from days to up to several weeks at a time to instruct and oversee a diverse array of contractors, working shifts on activities and projects supported by the department.
