Position title: Receiving Associate Reports To: Assistant Store Manager Job Location: Store Location FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt. Positions may be Full or Part time; Seasonal or Non-Seasonal JOB OVERVIEW Most important responsibility is to load and unload shipments, split for storage or movement of freight to the sales floor. May unpack, label or process merchandise, organize displays, stock shelves or take inventory. Insures that products are easily accessible, constantly available, properly distributed and safely stored. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY FUNCTIONS Commit to company-established receiving practices Sort product onto rocket carts Transport freight to the sales floors after sorting and ensuring that sufficient quantity has been delivered Aid the Management team in tracking all merchandise Handle store-to-store transfers and UPS transfers Scan and send any daily shorts and invoices to corporate Request backhaul and make sure all pallets are wrapped and truck is loaded Ensure dumpster is emptied as needed Provide safe environment by keeping work areas clean & organized Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer Operate forklift, pallet jack, Telxon gun and other retail equipment May be required to cross train and perform other duties REQUIREMENTS Previous receiving and/or managerial experience Expertise to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient Expertise to work unaided without supervision Expertise to access and use the in-store computer, scanning system, and wireless handheld unit Expertise to participate in our on-line candidate and new hire onboarding process remotely Expertise to complete computer-based training SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None PHYSICAL DEMANDS Good visual acuity and close vision for computer work Expertise to lift, push, and/or pull a min of 30 lbs repetitively and 31-50 lbs intermittently Expertise to use a ladder and/or pallet jack Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard Expertise to stand and/or walk for long periods of time Expertise to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day Expertise to verbally communicate effectively and professionally with all audiences (in-person or via handheld transceiver)Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
