Overview The Research & Development Electrical Engineer works as part of a team designing, developing and testing concepts for new product introduction. R&D resources, including a fully functional lab, are utilized to research new technologies and develop new solutions for existing and emerging markets. Reporting to the R&D Manager, this position is responsible for performing engineering activities and leading product development projects in the design, development and validation of new industrial controls with a specific emphasis on control design for Medium Voltage Heating systems. This position requires infrequent travel to other company facilities or client sites (less than 5% travel). Primary Duties Engineering/Technical Responsibilities Transform conceptual ideas into prototypes. Research, test, and assist in the design of new products. Follow projects from infancy to market introduction as needed. Develop control system architecture, component selection, schematic diagrams and system documentation, controller and process visualization programing (PLC & HMI) Review technical specifications; prepare, review and approval of engineering drawings, bills of materials, and other engineering.
