Job Title: Commodities Quant TraderLocation: Chicago, Illinois Company Insight:A leading quantitative trading firm is looking for a talented Commodities Trader with experience in the Northern American and European Oil, Natural Gas and Power markets to join their team. With over 25 years of success in innovative trading, the firm combines quantitative expertise with a sophisticated trading platform- one of the fastest and most comprehensive in the world- inviting traders poised to drive innovation and alpha in a dynamic and results-driven environment. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating and deploying high-frequency trading algorithms, analysing market patterns as well as developing data analysis tools in a fast-paced trading environment. With ample growth opportunities, this position allows successful candidates to shape key investment decisions, with the long-term goal of growing into a senior position. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about commodities and eager to influence key investment decisions while fostering collaboration and maintaining autonomy. Your role: Designing, implementing and deploying trading algorithms Researching high to mid frequency alphas Exploring trading ideas by analyzing market data, market microstructure and alternate data for patterns Creating tools to analyze data for patterns and developing data platforms Contributing to libraries of analytical computations to support market data analysis and trading Developing, augmenting and calibrating exchange simulators Experience/skills required: A Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or equivalent STEM degree Strong programming skills in Python or C++ Proficiency in back-testing, simulation, and statistical techniques (auto-regression, auto-correlation and Principal Component Analysis) Solid data-mining and analysis skills, including experience dealing with a large amount of data/tick data Familiarity with signal generation and statistical models Experience at a proprietary trading firm, hedge fund or bank Pre-Application: Please do not apply if you're looking for a contract or remote work.
