JOB PURPOSE To inspect and test manufactured parts to assure quality specifications are met. To document measurements in accordance to MPI policy and procedures. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions of the Job: Conducting daily manual part checks. Running part samples on inspection equipment. Confirming outside suppliers are meeting quality requirements. Handling Non-Conforming part duties. Work pace would be considered steady. Maintain an attendance and tardiness record within set limits of company policy. Non-Essential Functions of the Job: Assist in other areas of the facility as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Applicant must complete a Basics Skills Assessment and Back Ground Check. The following inspection equipment is utilized in the position: 0-6 Caliper Optical Comparator Go-No Go Thread Gages Drop Indicator Dial Test Indicator Micrometers Profilometer Skill Sets Visual attention to detail. Blue print reading – GD&T knowledge (Will train.) Experience with QC Real time (SPC Data Collection), Vision Systems, and CMM’s a plus. Knowledge of how to use MPI’s inspection equipment, and train others to use properly. Shall meet the company’s “Permission to Play Values”: Ethical/Integrity, Optimism, Adaptable, and Vulnerable Trust. Shall follow and promote MPI’s Safety Policies and Procedures. WORKING CONDITIONS Must be able to work in the following work environment: Moderate noise levels from machinery. Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. Breathing fumes, dust, and mist. Skin exposed to oils and cutting fluids. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to move and transport 35 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. on occasion. Must be able to maintain a stationary position for the entire shift. Must be able to reach above shoulders, and rotate torso 60% of the shift. Must be able to work shift hours and days as assigned. Must work at an acceptable pace to meet current cycle times. Must be able to work on multiple machines as assigned. Must wear personal protection equipment as required including, but not limited to, hearing protection, non-slip shoes, safety glasses.
