Job Title: Qualified Mental Health Professional-Trainee with SupervisionLocation: 12800 W. Creek Parkway Richmond, Va 23238Job Type: Full-timeSummary:We are seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Trainee (QMHP-T) to join our team. The QMHP-T will work under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional to provide therapeutic services to clients. This position is ideal for individuals who are pursuing licensure in the mental health field and want to gain valuable experience and training. Work with a team to supervise a group of 7 to 10 boy and girl adolescents (residents) dealing with behavioral and mental health issues Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents; ensure their living environment is secure Engage with residents as needed as a mentor, education assistant, activity and group leader Actively engage residents in scheduled program activities Essential Functions: Providing support to residents Organizing group activities including sports and recreation Meeting with young people to identify and discuss their problems Capable of problem-solving with the residents Be able to physically and emotionally engage with residents Capable of continuously monitoring the safety of residents and intervening as needed Able to de-escalate situations of conflict and intervene as trained in crisis situations Writing reports and progress/treatment notes of observations and engagements with residents Mentoring and being a role-model for social development Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Counseling)- Ability to obtain QMHP-T certification within six months of hire- Strong interpersonal and communication skills- Ability to work effectively as part of a team- Knowledge of mental health diagnoses, treatments, and interventions- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and supervision- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of practiceBenefits:- Competitive salary- Health, dental, and vision insurance- Paid time off- Professional development opportunities- Supportive and collaborative work environmentIf you are passionate about mental health and eager to gain valuable experience in the field, we encourage you to apply for this position.
