About this role We are recruiting for a Purchaser to join our Corporate Head Office in Burnaby. Here's how your role will strengthen our team. Your responsibilities Maintain costs in material databases Issue purchase orders for project materials Collaborate with warehouse staff on inventory management database Track and report product quality Research and negotiate with suppliers and vendors Generate regular reports on procurement activities Assist all Estimators as necessary to obtain pricing for Estimates and Projects Assist with the development and training for our procurement systems Collaborate with Procurement team on strategies to reduce total inventory costs Your experience and skills Post secondary education related to Purchasing or Supply Chain Management Minimum 3 years experience as purchaser/buyer, preferably in the construction industry Electrical or Electronics training or experience considered an asset Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience using JD Edwards an asset Able to negotiate and mitigate risk Strong communication skills and able to work with individuals in different areas of the company About Houle As BC's leading electrical contractor and systems integrator, we believe in delivering safe, reliable power for the future.
