This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in litigation, particularly within municipal and public agency contexts. The ideal candidate will possess high-level analytical and writing skills and be passionate about a career in litigation.Duties and Responsibilities:Represent public agencies in various types of litigation, including administrative writs, government claims acts, public contracting litigation, and CEQA matters.Develop and implement litigation strategies and tactics for public agency cases.Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.Manage all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through trial and post-trial proceedings.Provide expert legal advice and counsel to public agency clients on complex legal issues.Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.Collaborate with clients and colleagues to ensure effective case management and resolution.Stay current with developments in relevant laws and regulations affecting public agencies.Demonstrate high responsiveness and communication with clients and team members.Requirements:A minimum of 3-4 years of litigation experience, focusing on public agency matters preferred.Proven experience with municipal litigation, including administrative writs, government claims acts, public contracting litigation, and CEQA.Demonstrated commitment to a career in litigation, with a strong desire to continue in this field.Excellent academic credentials and a solid legal research and writing track record.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admitted to the California State Bar.Skills:Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.High level of responsiveness and professionalism in client interactions.Proven ability to handle complex litigation matters and achieve favorable outcomes.Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple cases and deadlines. The Sacramento office of this firm represents clients from every area of the state in matters involving water law, natural resources, municipal and public agency, public finance, education, construction, employment and labor, bankruptcy and creditors rights, and related litigation.
