Job Details Job Title: PSD Investigator : HC611097 Location: Mottisfont Court, Winchester Salary: SO1, GBP 31,434 : GBP 33,348 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible working and job share considered) Contract: Permanent Closing date: Sunday 15th October 2023 at 23.59 hours Job Purpose The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and victim focused with a strong interest in ethical policing and increasing public confidence. Flexibility is required, as those successful will be required to attend PIC's and stations across the force estate, as well as out of county. Key accountabilities include but are not limited to: 1. Investigate public complaints, misconduct, death or serious injury investigations and police perpetrated crime as directed by the PSD Detective Sergeant. 2. Carry out enquiries as required by the investigation. This may include (list not exhaustive): : gathering evidence and/or collation of documentary and other evidence as exhibits relevant to the investigation in accordance with the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and/or Force Procedures; : taking statements from victims and witnesses; : following other lines of enquiry as directed; : researching material of potentially evidential value, including crime reports, Police Prosecution files, and data from confidential sources; : making appointments and planning weekly schedules. : Undertake own investigations as directed 3. Liaise with Federation/Unison, line management and other interested parties during the course of the investigation focusing on welfare and organisational risk 4. As required, review information readily available relating to civil claims to identify whether there is any identifiable misconduct 5. Prepare notices of investigation, including notices of suspension and directed duties and serve on members of staff/police officers 6.
