Job Title: Protestant Musician Location: Fort George G Meade, MD Travel: N/A Duties: Perform the music and include a prelude, postlude, accompaniment for all hymns and when needed by the choir. Assist the praise team in learning and 4 performing new or special music for the worship service. Play either the organ or the piano in support of the choir as it learns the music necessary to lead the congregation in the worship services and provide special anthems and other musical numbers. The candidate shall be responsible for keys issued to him/her and shall pay for the replacement of keys and/or installation of locks in case of loss. The candidate shall be responsible for enforcing the “NO SMOKING IN THE BUILDING” policy and advising choir members on daily clean up policy. Qualifications: Must be available to perform services on weekends, weekday evenings and holidays as required. Must be able to play acceptable prelude and postlude music, accompany soloist, ensembles, and choirs. Education/Experience: Must have equal qualifications and approval of the Fort Meade Protestant Chaplain. Must have a minimum of five years' experience, preferably in a Christian worship service setting. Must be able to transpose music as well as play most hymns found in the accepted service hymnal at first sight while maintaining a sing able, appropriate tempo, rhythm, and registration at the instrument.
