Come join our family-owned company with a great culture and core values we live by every day! We are looking for a Production Supervisor with a desire to learn and excel in a fast-paced environment. This full-time position will be responsible for supervising and directing all aspects of 2nd shift manufacturing activities within the Knitting, Product Finishing and Distribution Departments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and schedule personnel to accomplish the scheduled work making sure it is completed efficiently and effectively. This includes: Setting the upcoming production schedule and priorities, assigning personnel to finishing cells and knitting machines; while understanding all employees' capabilities. Getting coverage for vacant cells/lines that require staffing; making full use of employees' abilities. Use the shortage report and other tools and input to adjust as needed. Organize and disperse work orders in knitting folders & maintain work orders as directed. Work with the Quality Lead to understand current quality issues and monitor knitting production with staff to ensure problems are corrected. Promote safety, high morale, and positive relationships among employees and provide guidance, assistance, and training to employees when needed. Ensure good labor relations through administering rules consistently among all employees as defined in the labor agreement and company policies. Monitor the production throughput of employees keeping in mind accuracy and quality. Review results with the production team to assess problems and potential solutions including progressive discipline. Review and approve time sheets for floor employees working in coordination with the payroll and production teams to ensure information is accurate. Work with the mechanic(s) to get feedback on production issues and potential solutions in coordination with production control. Maintain accurate inventory levels of all supply items including inventoried and non-inventoried items on the production floor. When items need to be ordered fill out appropriate requisition paperwork and submit to production control. Review all reports available to control costs, schedule work and eliminate shortages. Communicate with employees, peers, and other shifts. Conduct Regular tool box talks, setting priorities and communicating policy. Work with your manager and other leaders to accomplish duties as agreed upon. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED required At least 2 years in a supervisor role or lead role in a manufacturing or service environment or associate degree or bachelor's degree in a relevant field Ability to work independently and make decisions based on input from others and carry out assignments to completion given standard parameters, prescribed routines, and standard practices Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook) PREFERENCES: Experience is a manufacturing setting Experience in a union environment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to cover occasional off shift hours including weekends when needed for meetings or coverage. Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions.
